How to reach Santa Margherita Ligure And Rapallo

By plane:
Closest airports to Santa Margherita Ligure and Rapallo are:

On arrival, you can either rent a car or get a train (see below for information on train travel to Santa Margherita Ligure and Rapallo).
From Pisa, trains run directly from the airport. From Genoa you need to take a cab or the #100 VOLABUS airport bus to Genoa’s Piazza Principe train station.

By Train:

For Diving Group Portofino, Santa Margherita:
From Genoa:
At Genoa’s Piazza Principe Station, take the Regionale train to Santa Margherita Ligure. They run every 30 – 40 minutes Journey time 45 minutes.

From Pisa:
Sometimes it’s necessary to change at Pisa Main station.
Take the Regionale train to Santa Margherita Ligure. Journey time 90 minutes. If you want to check the timetable from the Train company website, put this into the search:

To:   S.Margherita Ligure-Portofino

For Diving Group Portofino – Rapallo:
From Genoa:
Trains run every 30 minutes. You can use Intercity or Regionale for Rapallo.

From Pisa:
For Rapallo, there are Intercity and Regionale trains.

Walking directions from train station to Diving Group Portofino – Santa Margherita & Rapallo

In both cases, Diving Group Portofino is a 10/15 minutes’ walk from the station. If you prefer not to walk there are always cabs at the station.

The area is well served by local buses ( www.tigulliotrasporti.it).

By car:  
Take the  A12 autostrada (motorway) to get  to the area. Exit at Rapallo and follow signs for Santa Margherita.  The “Via Aurelia” (old national road) is more scenic but may be excruciatingly slow, as it is very winding and passes through many towns and villages.

By boat:
In the summer, there are boats from Genoa to Santa Margherita Ligure and Rapallo.  Ferry service runs from April to September
