THE COURSE
This program is designed to train divers to conduct dives in technical configuration using decompression mixtures up to 100% oxygen and to a maximum depth of 48m. using air, and up to 51 m. using best mix of nitrox. If the course is conducted simultaneously with the IANTD Normoxic Trimix Diver course or if the student has already been patented IANTD Normoxic Trimix Diver, the maximum depth is 60 m. using a normoxic mixture of 20% O2 and 30% He.
The program requires a complete mastery of the theoretical knowledge and psychomotor skills necessary for this type of diving.
COURSE OVERVIEW
This course represents a real “degree” of the diver, it develops three important didactic categories for the achievement of the objectives, which are:
=> Theoretical knowledge,
=> Diving training,
=> Correct use of the equipment.
The course is divided into two levels:
=> Advanced Deep Air Diver
=> Technical Diver
The first level is an indispensable prerequisite for accessing the second.
The Normoxic Trimix Diver course can be attended before the Technical Diver course using the knowledge acquired in the previous Advanced EANx Diver course, or as a complement to the use of normoxic trimix mixtures in the Technical Diver course.
PREREQUISITES OF THE COURSE
IANTD Advanced EANx Diver or Normoxic Trimix Diver or equivalent certification (access equivalences to technical courses are never automatic and require a verification exam and written authorization), IANTD Rescue Diver and IANTD MFA / Oxygen Provider or equivalent certification agency recognized by the IANTD (automatic).
Recording of at least 100 dives, of which 30 are deeper than 30m. with the use of nitrox blends and in Advanced EANx Diver configuration.
Minimum age 18 years.
TEACHING MATERIALS OF THE COURSE
IANTD didactic kit, including the IANTD Technical Diver Manual, compulsory possession before the start of the course. The reading of each chapter must be done before the relevant lesson.
DURATION OF THE COURSE
Once the Advanced Deep Air Diver phase (see regulations) has been passed, eleven (11) theory lessons, at least a confined water training to refine the care in learning the exercises.
Minimum two realistic training dives which must be carried out to a maximum depth of 51m. using a best mix of nitrox. If the course is conducted simultaneously with the IANTD Normoxic Trimix Diver course or if the student has already been patented IANTD Normoxic Trimix Diver, the maximum depth is 60 m.
